Movies and comic strips have something in common that most people are not aware of, the ability to involve the viewer’s imagination between the scenes (or panels in comix). Most comic strips apply the viewers 'assumption' of what is happening between the panels in a limited way by creating action similar to a hand held film strip. What I want to create is something one can really think about. With no perceived point or punch line this will have a surreal effect on the viewer, so don’t be surprised what you think they mean.

METAPHYSICS OF ART

I believe art works like religion, the more cryptic or mysterious it is the more it will put you into a spiritual state of mind.

Surrealism is very powerful if the viewer allows their self not to be dialectic and calculating. I think comics that have weak punch lines are a waste of time. Most of mine do not have a punch line.

The space between comic strip panels are used to engage the viewers imagination, usually in a limited way, i.e. time lapse.

I want the viewer to imagine the possible correlation between the panels in terms of aspect, to access their own preverbal thoughts.

If my comic strips give you anxiety, tell me about it.
